This is my 23rd year teaching at St. Matthew School! I first joined the St. Matthew community in 1997 as a recent college graduate and a newlywed. After teaching for three wonderful years-during which I welcomed two children-I made the decision to stay home and focus on my young family. In 2006, I returned to the classroom and have been teaching 1st grade ever since.

Over the past 22 years, 20 of them in 1st grade, I've discovered a true passion for teaching children how to read. There's nothing more rewarding than watching a young reader grow in confidence and ability! I hold an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education and a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on Reading.

My husband and I are blessed with two adult children, both proud alumni of St. Matthew School. Our son Nick and his wife Emily live in Chicago, while our daughter Lizzie and her husband Luke reside in Champaign. Family is our greatest joy, and we cherish every moment we spend together.

My time at St. Matthew has been filled with love, growth, and countless blessings. Each day, I step into my classroom excited to greet "my kids" and to share with them not only a love for learning, but also a love for Jesus.
